Next Gen Clubs is a leading Health, Racquets & Lifestyle organisation with iconic facilities across Adelaide, Sydney, Perth, Canberra, Melbourne and Auckland. As we continue to expand and innovate, we are preparing to launch an exciting new Personal Training model for 2026 — and we are seeking an inspiring leader to drive excellence, high performance and innovation within our fitness team.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role provides autonomy, ownership and the opportunity to shape the future of the fitness product inside a premium club environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
Ensuring efficient, consistent and premium operation of the fitness department
Overseeing quality, safety, presentation and maintenance across gym floor and wet areas
Ensuring all equipment is maintained to an exceptional standard
Providing strong operational support to the fitness department
Leadership, Performance & PT Innovation
Providing strong leadership, direction and motivation to all fitness staff
Driving excellence and high performance through leadership of the Personal Training team
Leading the successful rollout, execution and performance of the 2026 PT model
Building a high-performance PT culture through mentoring, coaching, accountability and standards
Recruiting, training and developing high-quality fitness and PT staff
Bringing innovation, continuous improvement and operational enhancements to the department
Member Experience & Quality Assurance
Proactively managing, resolving and learning from member feedback
Ensuring all fitness spaces are clean, safe, welcoming and premium in presentation
Delivering an exceptional member experience across all fitness touchpoints
About You
You are a confident, motivational leader who thrives in a premium environment and knows how to build empowered, high-performing teams. You bring:
A passion for exceptional customer service
Demonstrated leadership in gym operations and personal training
Experience driving performance targets and staff development
Proven ability to implement ideas, programmes and improvements
Strong natural leadership qualities with the ability to inspire, coach and uplift teams
A deep passion for the fitness, wellness and lifestyle industry
Strong operational discipline, communication and organisational skills
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 4 years supervisory or management experience in the fitness industry
Certificate IV in Fitness (or NZ equivalent)
Senior First Aid & CPR
Current Working With Children Clearance
Sound financial and budgeting understanding
Tertiary qualification in Health, Fitness, Sport or Management (desirable)
Additional Information
Flexible hours and days required
Proof of right to work in Australia or New Zealand will be required at first interview
